Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our hope!

Read Psalm 62 as a prayer

As you pray Psalm 62 the word Selah is used twice. The best guess is that it is a space for a musical interlude. It is a pause in the prayer, letting the music still pray its musical notes. It can mean pause the speaking, listen and meditate on what you just prayed. Think about your words, your thoughts, pause long enough to know that God can answer you in your distress. That he is there, not distant but in our midst.

As you have hopes that you are still waiting on how can you allow Jesus to be a firm foundation in your life. Whether you ever see the thing hoped for or not how will this impact your trust in Jesus. Trusting in Jesus is a constant theme in the scritpures. He promises hard times, and good times as well and through it all Jesus calls us to trust him.

Where in your life do you need to re-up your trust in Jesus? This Psalm shares some areas where people place their trust other than in Jesus, set your not your heart on them. Take a few moments in prayer and discuss that with him. Pour your heart out before him. Power belongs to God.
