Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our joy!

Read Psalm 37:20-29 as a prayer.

Praying for joy in our life doesn't mean there is always an occation for joy. There are reasons, but mainly that reason is Jesus and the fact that we can delight in him. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, he will direct our steps. If he is directing them, then he is present as we take them. We can find great joy in knowing that we are present in the path of life with Jesus.

There are times however that take personal sacrifice in following God's intended plan for us. Often he asks us to step out in faith, not knowing why we are to go in that direction, and without promise of success. Living by faith is risky, but joy comes in abundance as we walk in faith. Walking by faith and not by sight is not for the faint of heart. It requires the boldness to be meek before the Lord and allow him to guide your steps.

Where is it that you can delight in Jesus? If we delight in him, we can find enjoyment in him. Are there areas of your life that you can realign so that you might have more of the Joy Jesus wants to give you? Take a few minutes and let the Holy Spirit speak to you about these areas. Spend some time talking, or journaling the areas where you might need to find your delight in Jesus and thus have more joy.
