Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our peace!

Read Psalm 37:10-19 as a prayer

Psalm 37:11 says; "But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace." This is what we all want, abundant peace. Peace in our heart, peace in our family, peace in our city, our state, our country and the world. We want peace and an abundance of it sounds pretty great.

As way of reminder the meaning of meek according to Oxford online dictionary "Quite, gentle, and easily imposed on, submissive." In our prayers we get to lay out complaints, but we also need to spend time allowing Jesus to shape us, lead us and guide us. He wants to lead us into abundant peace, in our hearts and in our lives. At the end of these prayers Psalm 37:19 asks us to pray this into our lives: "They (the meek) are not put to shame in evil times; in the days of famine they have abundance." We are encouraged to pray that we might become meek and in becoming meek, we will see more of what God has for us in this life.

Where in your life do you need to live out meekness before Jesus? What areas of your life do you need to realign, to gain the abundant peace Jesus wants for us? Spend some time talking, or journaling about the areas where you need to grow in meekness to be more at peace.
