Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our peace!

Read Daniel 3:16-30

Write a Note:

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were put into to a difficult situation. They were put to the fire, literally. It is way more comfortable sitting on this side of their story than having to walk through the fire. We know that they survived a furnace, turned up seven times what is normal. We know that their bounds were released and that God was with them. But I can't imagine what the moment when the guards who threw them in were killed was like for these three men. I would love to know the state of their mind, heart and emotions as their sentence was being passed down. I wonder if they had peace. I wonder if the peace was perfect or if it was more human, like having trust in Jesus, but no knowing the outcome.

As we live in a world that loves to destroy peace we too have been through some difficult situations. Situations that have tested our obediance to God's will for our life. There have been times when we passed before God, but it still cost us greatly. There are times in our life that we are happy that we are now on the other side of. Times that have threatened our peace, and yet God restored our peace. Times we can see more clearly because we are on the other side.

Write a note to yourself, or to Jesus about a time when you felt little to no peace, and how Jesus the prince of peace showed up in your life. Use this time to look back and see where Jesus was in the midst of your trial. Let his peace show up for you today.
