Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our joy!

Read Daniel 6

Daniel had his faith tested. Was his joy in his relationship with God, or was it in his high ranking with the king? We can see that he truly loved God more than he loved his king. He made a great sacrifice, as all disciples are called to do, and he was rewarded with the presence and peace of God. In this he was also given great joy at seeing God work in his life, and the life of the king. God was glorified because Daniel had his joy rooted in God.

Have you ever had a time in your life where your joy in your relationship with Jesus was bigger than anything else in your world? Where your delights were focused on what Jesus wanted for you? LIke the lions den it doesn't have to be an easy time, but the light of God's joy can come through in any moment of our life.

Take a moment and write a note to yourself or to Jesus about this moment. Allow Jesus to show you how he was bigger for you in those moments because your joy was found in him. As you do this allow the Joy of Jesus to come into your life in a fresh way and light up your world.
