Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our peace!
Read Genesis 17:1-8
Below is the Wholeness Wheel from Portico Benefit Services a minsitry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. To be at peace is to be complete. A whole person. This is the meaning of peace in its fullest sense. This wheel is a helpful tool in examining our lives and seeing where we are doing well and where we need some work.
In a class I took the instructor brought this wheel out and said "If one of these spokes is out, the wheel won't function as it should, what spokes do you need Jesus to address in your life?" It was very impactful. It has allowed me to pray into peace for my life over the years.
Take a piece of paper and write out the wheel. Or write out the elements of the wheel such as; social, emotional, physical, financial, vocational and intellectual. Think through each of these areas in your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to come and reveal to you areas where you need the complete work of Jesus to come into your life. Also allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the areas where you are doing well.
Ask Jesus who is the Prince of Peace to come into your life and make you complete. We need Jesus for this work in our life. Let his peace grow in your life through this exersize. As some of the areas may beome painful, give that pain to Jesus and allow him to exchange it for his peace. If you are doing well in some of these areas, let that be an oppertunity to praise God and give him the credit for your life. We really do need Jesus to come into our darkness and be our peace. So come Jesus be our peace.
