Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our PEACE!
Read Exodus 2:23-3:12
Peace in Presence
“But I will be with you, and this shall be a sign for you.” These are great words. Jesus left his Holy Spirit to witness these words to us. In the presence of Jesus there is great peace. Knowing that God is with us is powerful amidst the uncertainty of life. We all need the presence of Jesus in our life; I pray that we may see it.
God has not sent us to rescue the Israelites from Egypt. That is what he has for Moses, but the same sign that Moses had, we have as well, that we can be in the presence of God. I have often wanted to see a burning bush, that has yet to happen. Instead, the Holy Spirit ministers to each of us about God’s presence in our life. It may be difficult to see, but Jesus is near, Jesus wants to be near us, and when Jesus is near there is peace. He offers it as a gift to his people and the peace that comes from his presence will help us get through any difficulty in life.
I don’t know where Jesus has you today, but he has you right where you are. He will hold you safe in his hands. He wants to give you his grace that is sufficient for the task at hand. We need the Prince of Peace to shine into our darkness and be our peace. This is a peace that we can’t manufacture, and it will surpass anything that we can experience without Jesus. Let the peace of Jesus be in your life just as the candle you lit is in your life. It is real and tangible.
Let us spend 10 minutes in silence. Ask the Holy Spirit to minister to you about the presence of Jesus in your life. Ask the Spirit of the Living God to show you where he is working in your life. Set a timer and end with a prayer.
