Light a candle and pray Jesus light of the world come into our darkness and be our joy!
Read Deuteronomy 16:13-17
Part of joy is the festal shout. Shouting for joy at the appropriate time and for the appropriate reason. A festal shout is a planned shout of thankfulness and gratitude. We just read about the Feast of the Booths. A feast for seven days where there was much rejoicing for God leading his people through the wilderness. Even though living in tents was hard, God has seen them through this hard time and they respond with planned thanksgiving and worship.
What are traditions and/or services and/or events that have allowed you the place to give a festal shout of joy to Jesus for all he has done. Jesus has been with you in hard times, seen you in the lowest part of your life and has also given you places of rest and places of deliverance. We can and should worship Jesus.
Think about and give voice the places where you have been able to give Jesus a festal shout. Maybe even right down the occasions so that you can look at them and remember. Remember to enjoy Jesus this week. Enjoy his presence in your life and while doing that give a shout of joy!
